Project Manager

Saltwater Inc. is hiring a full-time Project Manager (PM) to oversee various electronic monitoring and other fisheries-related projects. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, resourceful, and a team player who excels in a dynamic environment.

They will be responsible for the following:

Project Planning: Responsible for working with the EM Program Manager to develop and maintain project plans for select projects.

Project Implementation: Responsible for overseeing the deliverable schedule, implementing tasks as assigned, and ensuring completion of tasks assigned to others. Coordinate with the EM team on the status of vessels, seasons, and supplies, and provide back-up support as required. Coordinate with the tech team on shipping and inventory procedures.

 Reporting: Responsible for all project reporting for the assigned projects.  This may include, but is not limited to: weekly, monthly and quarterly status reports as well as working with Saltwater’s accounting department on managing project budgets and billing. Includes coordinating annual service agreement renewals and new contract creation.

Stakeholder Communications: Assist the Program Manager with client and industry communications and outreach. This may include attending both virtual and in-person client meetings, outreach events or trade shows/conferences.

Program Development: Help Saltwater expand by looking for new opportunities and assisting with the proposal process as needed.

EM Onboarding Training: Provide training to new EM Staff on general EM procedures including time coding in ADP, Shipping/Receiving, general data processing and data access, and EM Google Drive structure.

Other duties as assigned: This may include EM data review, providing project support in the field, data processing, and other tasks as necessary.

  • Marine biology, fisheries, or oceanography background
  • 3+ years project management experience – OR – An applicable degree (BA in Business Administration, Project Management degree) and 2 years professional work experience.
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Dropbox, GoogleWorkplace, etc.)

  • Experience with Jira, Asana or other project management software tools.
  • Proposal writing experience.
  • EM or related technology experience.
  • Fisheries observer experience.
  • Inventory management experience.
  • A desire to support the health of the ocean and sustainable fisheries.
