We believe that the wise use and management of our natural resources can only come from wise decisions. We also believe that an observer’s hands-on experience at sea can provide invaluable insights into our understanding of marine ecosystems and fisheries. We encourage our observers to further their education, and look forward to their using their observer experience to contribute to the future management of our fisheries resources.

Saltwater recently provided $60,000 to scholarships for our employees to continue their education in fisheries biology in Alaska. We are committed to providing $10,000 in scholarships each year for the next five years. Applications are available upon request and can be used for studies in marine biology at the University of Alaska. All current and former Saltwater, Inc. observers are eligible to apply.
